The Caribbean Island of Puerto Rico is an unincorporated territory of the United States, located in the northeastern Caribbean, east of the Dominican Republic and west of both the United States Virgin Islands and the British Virgin Islands. In addition to its beautiful beaches, Puerto Rico boasts many unique sites such as El Yunque Rainforest, the only rainforest in the United States; the the world’s brightest bioluminescent bay; and the historical Spanish fort at San Juan, Castillo de San Cristóbal.
Puerto Rico is a popular global tourist destination with over 9 million airline passengers annually either visiting or connecting through the Caribbean island’s three main international airports with an additional 1.3 million annual cruise ship passengers.
