Anguilla (A British Overseas Territory)
Leeward Islands of the Lesser Antilles, The Caribbean
Anguilla is a Caribbean island in the British West Indies. It is one of the most northerly of the Leeward Islands in the Lesser Antilles, lying east of Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands and a mere 6 miles directly north of Saint Martin. The territory consists of the main island of Anguilla itself, approximately 16 miles (26 km) long by 3 miles (5 km) wide at its widest point, together with a number of much smaller islands and cays, such as Scrub Island and Dog Island, with no permanent population. The island’s capital is The Valley. The total land area of the territory is 35 square miles (90 km2), with a population of approximately 13,500.
Anguilla is frequented by celebrities and tycoons alike who seek an incomparable Caribbean lifestyle experience and the privacy that can only be offered on the luxurious island of Anguilla. Anguilla is known for its 33 gorgeous white sand beaches, sensational restaurants, and some of the world’s top luxury resorts. In fact, Cap Juluca (conceptualized, designed, built, and originally operated by Arambys Team members Robin & Sue Ricketts) was just named World’s #1 Beach Resort by Andrew Harper’s Hideaway Report.
In addition to being a high-end tourism destination, attracting comparable, if not the same, wealthy visitors drawn to the Caribbean French island of St. Barts (just 22 miles away), Anguilla has become a popular tax haven, having no capital gains, estate, profit, or other forms of direct taxation on either individuals or corporations.
